- Number of jobs, not hours. Most handymen price a half day or full day. Four small jobs in one visit cost far less than four separate call-outs, because travel is the fixed cost.
- Wall type. Solid brick, plasterboard and dot-and-dab all need different fixings. Plasterboard with no stud behind it is the usual reason a "simple" job takes longer.
