Hiring for handyman: what to know

Describe the job clearly, add a photo or two, and say when you need it done. Taskers on Taskerama reply with a fixed price, so the offers you compare are real all-in quotes, not estimates that change later. Check each tasker's completion rate, reviews and badges before you accept.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a handyman cost?

A handyman typically costs between £40 and £150. Post your task to get exact quotes.

Is there a fee to post a handyman task?

Posting is free and you are charged nothing unless you hire someone. When you accept an offer there is a booking fee based on the task price, and it is shown on every offer before you accept, so the total is never a surprise. A yearly membership removes it entirely. See our fees page for the bands.

Are taskers verified?

Every tasker verifies their email address and sets up payouts before they are paid. Many add government ID, DBS and trade licence badges.

How do I pay?

You pay by card when you accept an offer. Stripe processes the payment and it is only released to the tasker when you confirm the task is complete. If the task is cancelled, the refund goes straight back to your card.
